Innovaqua Review: Turn Humidity Into Clean Drinking Water!

If you’ve never heard of an atmospheric water generator (AWG), you owe it to yourself to learn more about it.

This is an amazing water-generating system that takes the humidity in the air and turns it into clean drinking water and Innovaqua is one of the lead companies showing us what they can do with this tech.

If you currently own a bottled water system and you’re tired of lugging around five-gallon jugs of water and paying a fortune for the service, you might want to consider swapping it out for an AWG, which is easier, healthier, and even a little less expensive than you might think. Innovaqua is one of the companies that specializes in these systems, and they offer a lot more advantages than you realize.

What Is Innovaqua and an Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG)?

The Innovaqua Company makes a great atmospheric water generator (AWG) that works great but isn’t that complicated to understand. An AWG essentially dehumidifies the surrounding air and creates up to around 10 gallons of water per day, depending on its size, for you to drink and use for cooking and bathing.

The AWG draws in humid air and first treats it with a UV light, then condenses the water and sends it through an activated carbon filter, a membrane that uses the reverse osmosis process, and finally a mineralization filter. This filter contains mineral stones that actually simulate the erosion effect of a river. After it does this, it will dispense either cold or hot water.

If you’re thinking you need a certain amount of humidity in the air for the AWG to work properly, you’re right. Most systems recommend that the humidity be a minimum of 35% for them to work, but if you have low humidity, you can often pour some tap water into the system before turning it on to get the same effect.

AWGs do not work exactly like a dehumidifier but extract water from humid ambient air and render the water potable. They are useful to own when your access to healthy drinking water is limited, in part because there is always a small amount of water in the air that is able to be extracted.

How Does the Process Work?

AWGs extract water, usually by condensation, and cool the air below its dew point, which exposes the air to desiccants that pressurize the air. The two techniques used include cooling and desiccants, and while each of these methods produces the same results, they are a little different in the way they work. With cooling condensation, there is a compressor that circulates refrigerant through a condenser, then an evaporator coil cools the air that surrounds it. Because of this, the air temperature is lowered to its dew point and the water is condensed.

Next, a fan with controlled speed pushes out the filtered air over the coil and the water is passed into a holding tank. That tank has a special filtration system that keeps the water pure and clean. With cooling condensation, the rate at which the water is produced depends on the temperature of the ambient air and the relative humidity, not to mention the size of the compressor. As a general rule, this type of water generation is more effective when the relative humidity and the air temperature rise. Ideally, the relative humidity should be 30% or higher and the temperature should be at least 65 degrees Fahrenheit for the process to be most effective.

Generating water through the wet desiccant process consists of using salt in a concentrated brine solution to absorb the ambient humidity. Then, water is extracted from the solution and purified for drinking and household use. The entire process now involves a method that is more environmentally friendly than it was in the past. These systems use passive solar energy and gravity to purify the water. Systems that use a combination of refrigeration, absorption, and condensation are also currently being developed in addition to the regular wet desiccant process.

These days, water can also be generated in greenhouses, hydrogen fuel cell cars, and air conditioners, so it isn’t just an atmospheric water generator that can turn high humidity levels into clean drinking water. Innovaqua, and companies like them, are always taking advantage of the latest technological developments to generate clean drinking water for people to enjoy, so let’s take a closer look at the products these companies offer.

Conclusion

Innovaqua makes more than one type of atmospheric water generator, and for under $1,700 you can get one that produces up to eight gallons of water per day. One particular AWG comes with enough filters to last for up to one year, an extra carbon bag, and a five-year warranty to give you the peace of mind you deserve.

Best of all, these AWGs produce water that is alkaline, mineralized, and ionized and which is free of chlorine, fluoride, and all other contaminants. The units typically last around 25 years and come with everything you need to begin using them immediately.

The $1,700 Innovaqua nube unit produces water with a pH level of 7.3 to 7.6, is low noise at only 55 decibels (which can be turned off even while it’s dispensing water), and uses 450 watts per hour when in operation.

When you need an atmospheric water generator for your home or office, keep in mind that the Innovaqua Company has been around awhile and produces high-quality AWGs that you can depend on for many decades to produce clean, healthy water.
